We left Kenora at 7:00 AM.
Prior to leaving Mike chatted with a couple of bikers from Montreal who had to replace a punctured tire in Brandon MB - which cost them $600 when all said and done.
Their trip was 21 days (same as us) to the West coast through the US and returning via Canada (the opposite of our plan).
Today we rolled across the entire province of Manitoba, but not before having the experience of riding through heavy rain and yes HAIL - ouch! This took place just coming into Winnipeg. We took refuge in a small restaurant. There we met Pierre. This guy is crazier than us. He has ridden 7000 km since mid July on a wee Sportster with no windshield - oh my God! Pierre originally from Montreal now lives in BC.
The Saskatchewan Border |
Interesting things about today were, the terrain - very flat, and the speed limits - 90 to 100 then to 110 km. Yahoo!
The winds were heavy and made the ride difficult.
Distance today: 622Km Total: 2588 Km
We miss you uncle Mike!!! (anana) Love you! Ride Safe xoxoxoxox
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email this afternoon before finding your blog. So freaky. This is the email.
Brother Mike
I road down to the store this morning and on my way home I came up behind a nice red Heritage. As I got closer I thought to myself "that would be awesome if that was "Miker the Biker". I started to daydream thinking it would be so cool if he was picking me up to hit Sturgis. And wouldn't you know it as I got closer that thing had a Ontario plate. Well I almost start to cry with joy. Then of course I cried all the way the home after I saw it wasn't you.
Man that was so much fun even for the two minutes it lasted "that's what she said".
Hope you are getting some rides in.
Take cake Brother - see ya soon.
Don
I had no idea you were on rout. Let me know if you are swinging by.
Mikey! I love your blog....even though I am not on the ride with you guys. Ok, I will admit it, I am jealous. I know you will have a great time (how could you not, as you are going to BC).
ReplyDeleteTake care, ride safe and think about the crew who is with you "in spirit"...right there with you brother...
